A B6030 BACnet/IP to 4 utilty meter interface device brings data from Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP meters to BACnet/IP networks. Configuration is done over Ethernet through onboard web pages, and can be managed from a remote location. The configuration is simple and the meter is up and running in minutes.
The B6030 has over 47 templates of well known BTU, steam or electric meters, from numerous manufacturers, where important registers are pre-mapped to BACnet objects. These permanently available meter templates can be selected during the setup procedure using a drop down menu.
Meter data exposed to the BACnet network includes, but is not limited to:
The B6030 is housed in a professional metal case and can be mounted standalone, on a wall using wall bracket kit, or on a DIN rail. It has one RS485 Euro-style plug connector (terminal plug included) for connecting up to 4 Modbus RTU meters. It has one Ethernet 10/100 RJ45 connector.
Most facilities which have a BACnet Building Automation System also have a large number of Modbus meters which need to be attached to the BACnet system. A B6030 can be used to accomplish this goal. A B6030 acts as a Modbus to BACnet interface - taking Modbus register data and exposing it to BACnet. There is no need to spend time picking and choosing registers to expose on each meter; the B6030 already has templates for more than 45 meters - templates where all important Modbus registers are mapped to BACnet objects. All BACnet objects are meaningfully named and standardized (units, functions) for easier reading and integration into a Building Automation System.
Configuration steps include specifying a meter's IP address (if it is TCP/IP meter), the meter's Modbus ID and its template. Configuration can be saved to a text file and then can be reloaded to the device or uploaded to a new device, thus significantly saving time. All the mapping data can be saved to a CSV file and can later be used for analyzing data.
Supported meters are:
Note: The B6030 communicates with meters using Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU. Additional hardware may be required in order for some meters listed above to be able to communicate with the B6030. Please contact us for details
