After long ongoing demand we are releasing our B6130 BACnet/IP to Modbus Devices mapping device. The B6130 is direct follow-on to our widely deployed B6030 BACnet/IP to Modbus Meters “EasyMAP” device, but instead of having built-in templates, it allows the user to load templates. The templates are built with a simple purpose-driven Windows tool (MBTemplate included with B6130 or downloadable from website).
The B6130 is not only an easy way to make your Modbus device into a BACnet device, but it is a tool to be considered when deciding how to make your device communicate in the first place. We get many OEM and contractor customer requests about how to make a small device speak BACnet, and to put it simply, we recommend that you first make your device communicate via Modbus (RTU or TCP). See our recent December article on this topic in Automated Buildings.
The B6030 was our opening into making BACnet relevant for metering of water, air, gas electric and steam (WAGES). The B6130 expands the metering applicability and moves to many classes of small monitoring and control devices.
Whether you need to get water consumption (process and HVAC) correlated to energy, and monitored long term (via a system like our Analytika service) or whether you need to do life-cycle and COGs analysis of any of your systematics - the B6130 and B6030 devices help get you there.
