Join us at Princeton University for the Smart Campus 2018 Summit on October (29-31)! Come and network with your peers from academic institutions across the country – sharing knowledge, successes, and experiences in the march towards smart campuses. This summit will be building on last year’s inaugural and incredibly successful Summit at Cornell University.
At this event Jim Butler of Cimetrics, convener of the BACnet committee's IT working group, will describe how BACnet/SC is expected to be applied, and compare it to BACnet/IP. He will present on October 31st 9 - 9.45 am in a Friend Center Building: Room 101.
Cimetrics has been working with BAS manufacturers on BACnet network security for almost 10 years within the BACnet committee, and now BACnet/SC is in public review. With the increased likelihood of cyber attacks on critical infrastructure, including buildings, it is increasingly important to secure automation networks. BACnet Secure Connect (BACnet/SC) is a forthcoming networking option that will secure BACnet communication on TCP/IP networks using standard IT technologies that are used in critical applications such as online banking.
