What is Facility IT
Facility IT is a discipline lying at the intersection of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Facility Management (FM), and Information Technology (IT). Of course, that is the wrong question. Armed with self-interest, people from both side would say “we do!” This debate doesn’t help. There has to be a better way to think about this problem. Read More
Smart-building and IoT technologies are highly fragmented. Greater cooperation among standards bodies, corporations, city governments and other stakeholders is needed so IoT and existing smart-building technology can work together to deliver the full potential of smart cities, according to a Georgia Tech study.
The problem is that standards are lacking for current in-building systems, let alone having standards so they can share with newer IoT devices. Read More
