    BAS-o-matic is a protocol analyzer platform for Building Automation Professionals. This software contains extensive features for monitoring and analyzing BACnet and traditional IT networks. With BAS-o-matic you can view packet detail down to the lowest layers as well as a list of network connections, IP statistics, and bandwidth usage. Full access to raw data is also provided. Captured packets can be saved to log files for future analysis. A flexible system of filters makes it possible to drop packets you don't need or capture only those packets that you wish to capture.

    This application is compatible with 32 and 64 bit platforms, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008R2. Your computer will also need an Ethernet network card supporting the NDIS 3.0 driver standard. If you want to decode BACnet MS/TP or/and Modbus RTU then you will need an additonal hardware device (for example, a Cimetrics B2110 BACnet MS/TP Interface).

  • Diagnose BACnet Communications

    Using the BAS-o-matic, users can capture, decode and analyze BACnet and over 50 other IT protocols. The default Data Link Layers included for BACnet are BACnet/IP and BACnet Ethernet. In order to capture BACnet/MSTP and Modbus RTU, the U+4 hardware is required; for decoding other protocols no additional hardware is required. A plugin for Modbus TCP decoding is available, and requires no additional hardware. Users can capture all the traffic on the network, and decode it for easy troubleshooting, thereby saving time and effort in troubleshooting  BACnet network problems. The captured and decoded packets are displayed in a very user friendly format that makes reading the contents of the packet and understanding the sender and intended receiver information a snap.

    Diagnose BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU communications (U+4 Hardware Required for capturing)

    The BAS-o-matic software is also capable of capturing both BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU communications, if a Cimetrics' E+ hardware adaptor is avaiable.

    Decoders for these protocols may be purchased separately. Capturing Modbus RTU packets requires the model B2000 TCP/RTU router, while capturing BACnet MS/TP requires the model B2110 BACnet MS/TP interface. Both models are members of Cimetrics' E+ line of network devices.
