Cimetrics has been a pioneer in open system communication for building automation for more than 20 years. By developing and promoting BACnet (ASHRAE/ANSI 135; ISO 16464), the world standard building automation protocol, Cimetrics has established itself as the premier supplier of communication technology to the building automation industry. Cimetrics BACnet software protocol stacks provide the underlying open communication technology to a majority of building automation systems manufacturers in the world. Cimetrics BACnet Protocol Analyzer is the industry standard test tool for the development of BACnet products. Cimetrics BACnet routers have been used to transport critical building automation data over the Internet since 1996 and have found application in wide area integration and telecommunications.

In 1998, the company began to focus on an ongoing commissioning and enterprise management of energy and facilities offering called Infometrics.  Cimetrics has more technology and experience connecting to building automation systems and submeters than any other company.  Our Infometrics customers have some of the most complex and energy intensive buildings in the world.

Cimetrics continues to be a technology leader through our efforts with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers) to help Smart Grid standardization, particularly between Commercial and Industrial buildings and the Smart Grid.  Additionally, Cimetrics continues to lead in the Building Automation field by leading the BACnet-IT effort within ASHRAE.
