Cimetrics announces cost effective BACnet development software for Windows®

Boston, Mass – July 25, 2005 – Cimetrics, Inc., the leading 3rd-party supplier of BACnet software, announced today the release of BACstac/Win for Projects, an exceptionally cost-effective BACnet protocol stack for customers requiring a limited number of licenses. This software can easily save hundreds of man hours of programming and enable significantly faster completion of Windows based BACnet applications.

BACstac/Win for Projects features the exact same code base used by leading HVAC companies and offers this to a new customer profile; smaller software development companies whose resources may be limited but still have a need for state-of-the-art BACnet compatibility. Windows Operating Systems supported are Win2000 and Windows XP.

Cimetrics' BACstac series contains more than 100,000 lines of code which implement all of the BACnet 2004 objects and services (except virtual terminal services), segmentation, a full routing network layer, BACnet/IP support and MS/TP support (using a Cimetrics interface device). The break-through pricing for this development kit is $2,995 (FOB Boston) and an example of the run-time licensing cost is $411 each for ten run-time licenses.

The built-in capabilities of the BACstac/Win for Projects have allowed customers to create BACnet applications within weeks from start to finish, an estimated savings of well over one man-year of development effort.
