Most facilities which have a BACnet Building automation system also have a vast amount of Modbus TCP meters which need to be attached to BACnet system. To
accomplish that our B6035 is used. A B6035 acts as a Modbus TCP to BACnet interface - taking modbus registers data and exposing it as BACnet. There is no need to
spend time picking and choosing what registers to expose from each meter. A B6035 already has templates for more than 45 meters where all important modbus registers are mapped to BACnet objects. All BACnet objects are meaningfully named and standardized for easier reading and integration to Building Automation systems.
Configuration steps include specifying meters IP address (if it is TCP/IP meter), meter Modbus ID and template. Configuration can be saved to a text file and then can be uploaded back to the device or to the new one, thus significantly saving time. Also all the mapping data can be saved to a CSV file, and can be used for analyzing data.
Versatile Web-based controller
A resident web server allows for commissioning, and troubleshooting via a standard web browser. B6035 devices support various protocols such as HTTP, IP, UDP,
BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP. All Cimetrics devices have a unified web interface and once you configure one of these devices you will have the same experience configuring others.
The Home page and Object status page display values read from the devices.
Meter configuration page provides a pull down menu for choosing a meter template.
You can change login information in Authorization settings page.
Error log and Statistics page provides information for easy troubleshooting.
IP address - IP address of device. (Default=192.168.0.22)
Network mask - Subnet mask for given subnet. (Default=255.255.255.0)
Default gateway - IP address of default gateway. (Default=192.168.0.1)
BACnet UDP port - BACnet/IP UDP Port (Default = 47808). In some cases, e.g., a situation where it is desirable for two groups of BACnet devices to coexist independently on the same IP subnet, the UDP port may be configured locally to a different value.
BACnet Device# - Device ID is a numeric code [1-4194303] that is used to identify the BACnet Device. Default = 1457009 generated from MAC
BACnet Device Location/Application- Location/application string (0-63 characters) to help user find Device Object Name
Meter Configuration Settings
Polling Delay - Idle time(in sec) between the end of one poll and the start of the next. Default=30 sec. Range: [5-3600]. The Polling Delay is actual only for meters with "Polling" parameter set to "Periodically"
Settings per meter (up to 100 meters)
Meter Model - "None" means that polling is disabled for this meter
IP - IP Address used by the Modbus/TCP device. Empty IP means Modbus/RTU
Modbus ID -Address of remote device connected on a serial line thru Modbus router (for example: Cimetrics B2000). Valid range: [1-247] for Modbus/TCP router. Empty(or 0) for Modbus/TCP device.
Polling - How to update values: On demand (by user) or Periodically (using Polling Delay)
Description - Meter description (up to 63 characters)
B6035 – BACnet/IP to 100 Ch. Energy Meter (High Capacity) A B6035 meter exposes data from Modbus TCP meters to BACnet/IP networks. It can interface to up to 100 Modbus TCP meters.
A B6035 is housed in the professional ragged metal case and can be mounted standalone, on a wall using wall bracket kit or on a DIN rail. It has one RS485 connector for connecting up to 4 Modbus RTU meters and one Ethernet 10/100 RJ45 connector.
The configuration is done over Ethernet through onboard web pages of the product and can therefore be managed from a remote location. The configuration is simple and the meter is up and running in minutes.
Meter has over 47 templates of well known BTU, Steam or Electric meters where important registers are mapped to BACnet objects. These permanently available meter templates can be selected during the setup procedure using a drop down menu.
Meter data exposed to the BACnet network includes but not limited to:
• Power
• Energy
• Demand
• MaxDemand
• Power_Factor
• Flow
• Consumption
• Current, Voltage and Phas (if supported by the meter)
The Ethernet port uses a standard shielded RJ45 connector with integral LEDs. A power data LED blinks green when the data is passing.
Flexible connections:
• Professional BACnet/IP connectivity
• Interfaces to 100 Steam, BTU, or Electrical meters
IP network support:
• Build-in web server
• Status page for diagnostics
• Secure login to web configuration and status interfaces
• Easy & Informative naming convention
• BACnet Device Object support
Standard communication:
• 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
• Easy system installation
• Data and Power indication
