To find out the IP Address a user has configured or allocated to the unit, do the following
- Using DHCP
Set up your PC to use DHCP and connect to the Unit via a hub or directly using a crossover cable. (Use the Port marked Web Services on the B/IP to B/WS Gateway)
Now recycle the power on the B/IP to B/WS Gateway. After a few seconds, your PC should have been allocated an IP address of 192.168.88.90 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. You can check this on your PC by going to RUN | CMD | typing in "ipconfig /all" without the quotes. This will show you the IP Address of your machine.
Once you have seen the above IP Address, open the browser and in the address bar, enter the following URL
http://192.168.88.89
This should lead you into the login screen. Once you have logged in, on the left menu options click on "BACnet/IP Settings". Here you will see the IP address your unit has been assigned or configured to.
If you are unable to get an IP address using the DHCP option, please assign your PC a fixed IP address of 192.168.88.90 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and no gateway.
Once you have done this, you can follow the above to log into the unit and find the IP address.
If the above two methods do not work for you, please download and install a program called BAS-o-matic. This can be gotten from www.cimetrics.com/pa
Once you have installed the program, do the following
- connect the PC to the Unit voa a hub or directly with a crossover cable (do not have any otehr machine in this private LAN)
- Start the BAS-o-Matic program and File | Start Capture
- Recycle power on the Unit
- In the BAS-o-matic tab to the "Packets" field and you should see packets being sent out from the Unit after being repowered. From this packet, you can see the IP Address from the field "SOURCE IP Address".
Once you have determined the IP address of the unit, open up your browser and in the URL enter the IP address of the unit. This should give you the login page.
