Do you have a BACstac for Linux ?

Answer

Our BACstac/32 is fully capable of working with "embedded Linux" but this is not a "standard product" because Linux code builds are a "moving target" and we do not want to have to create documentation and technically verify BACstac everytime Linux changes.

However, if you are willing to accept this fact, you can easily implement BACstac on a Linux platform.

For example, we currently use BACstac/32 together with an "embedded Linux OS" in our BR2 Router platform. This was compiled using Redhat v7.x and we have not had the need to update to more recent Redhat versions. It our understanding that there are now Redhat "Enterprise versions" for large web-sites, databases, etc, and a desktop versions of RedHat called "Fedora". We have not done any testing using these more recent versions.

So if you were willing to base your designs on Redhat v7.x this would be fully compatible. If you wanted to use a more recent code base, you would need to do some testing and possible modifications to the Bacstac source code yourself. Our programmers say that any differences with other flavors of Linux are probably minor and they would be happy to give advice should you need to do this.
