In order to see or communicate with BACnet devices that are on a BACnet/IP network, you will need to have the BACnet OPC Server set to use BACnet/IP. Once you have this configuration, the OPC Server should be able to see devices on the BACnet/IP network.
Keep in mind that there are some conditions that need to be fulfilled before BACnet/IP Communication is successful. These are the conditions
1) The BACnet devices must be configured to use BACnet/IP
2) The OPC Server and the BACnet devices in question must have an IP Address that falls under the same SUBNET.
3) The OPC Server and the BACnet/IP Devices must be configured to use the same UDP port (default is 47808).
4) The connections between the BACnet OPC Server and the BACnet devices must not be via an IP Router.
Please follow the following steps to change the OPC Server to use BACnet/IP
1) Access the Local Area Connection Properties and highlight the Cimetrics BACstac Protocol and click on Properties
2) Once the Cimetrics BACstac Protocol Properties Window opens up, highlight the Information that you see and click on “Remove”
3) Click on “Add” and choose BACnet/IP
4) Once the BACnet/IP port properties window opens up, enter the following information
Port ID = 1
Network Under Number = 1
IP Address = please click on the drop down list and select the IP ADDRESS OF YOUR MACHINE (please do not leave this at "DEFAULT")
UDP Port should be = 47808
Subnet Mask should be valid as per your IP Address
Once you complete the above set up, reboot your machine and start the OPC Server.
