I have two network cards or more on my machine and I cannot get the OPC Server to work

Answer

If you are having multiple network cards on your machine and are having problems with the BACstac, please follow the below given instructions.

The BACstac protocol can be bound to Multiple Network Interface Cards and Dial up adaptors on a single machine. However, it can be executed only from a single NIC card. Desired operations will not occur if the BACstac protocol is bound to multiple NIC cards and Dial up adaptors. The BACstac protocol by default binds to all the NIC cards and Dial up adaptors on a given machine. To make changes and bind the BACstac to the desired NIC, please follow the below given instructions

1 In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box for the connection the BACstac shall be bound to, check the BACstac "component", in Properties dialog box and for all other Local Area Connections clear BACstac's check box

2 Stop the BACstac: a) type 'net stop BACstac' on the command line (or stop it under Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services) AND b) type 'net stop bacdl' on the command line

3 Start the BACstac: a) type 'net start bacdl' on the command line AND b) type 'net start BACstac' on the command line (or start it under Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services)

4 Please do not forget to uncheck the BACstac that is bound to any Dial up adaptors that are present

If the medium of communication is BACnet/IP, the IP Address field of the B/IP port configuration is left blank (default), which means that the BACstac will bind to the first IP interface it finds. To fix this, please open the BACstac Properties dialog box, open B/IP port properties and in the IP Address drop-down list select appropriate IP address (corresponding to the physical interface you want BACstac to bind to). We recommend rebooting the system after each and every change that is made in order to make them effective.
