The OPC Server supports three different kinds of licenses. One is a software license; the other is a Hardware Parallel port key and the third option being a Hardware USB Port Key. If you have purchased the “Software License” option you do not need any hardware keys and the license needs to be installed in the OPC Server folder. Typically it is at C:\Program Files\Cimetrics\OPCSrvr.

If you have purchased any of our Hardware key options, please make sure that the Hardware key driver is installed before installing the Key on the machine. This driver is shipped on the same CD that you received when you purchased the OPC Server. If you are unable to locate your CD, you can download the Hardware Key driver from the Cimetrics web site at www.cimetrics.com/OPC . Once you have the driver installed, the computer should be able to recognize your hardware key and the “demo mode” message should go away.
