In order to test the serial communication of the EasyBAC, the following need to be done first

- Create and upload a .asn file into the EasyBAC

- Attach a NULL MODEM serial cable to the COM port of your PC and the EasyBAC serial port

- Start the Serial Tester program from your PC by going to Start | All Programs | Cimetrics | EasyBAC | Windows Serial Tester

- To Read a Present value of an Object, choose the Object type and enter its instance number followed by clicking on "Read". This should display the present value of that Object.

- To write to the Present value property of an Object, choose the Object type and enter its instance number followed by clicking on "Write". This should write to the present value of that Object. This can be verified by doing the Read.
