Cimetrics’ management and staff have established it as a leader in the development of the BACnet industry standard and the market for the Infometrics product. The Company’s management team has a combined 100+ years of experience in energy engineering management, facilities and building controls engineering, communication and analysis software development. Jim Lee, CEO, is a prominent figure in the building automation and controls industry, and his leadership of the BACnet Manufacturers’ Association and aggressive promotion of the BACnet open protocol standard have helped make Cimetrics a critical player in the arena. Key members of the Cimetrics management team are profiled below.
The Cimetrics management team is supported by 20+ employees in the Boston and 30 employees located in Russia. The Cimetrics workforce is comprised of employees with educational and work experience in software engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering and building controls engineering. Cimetrics employee staff has four PhDs in physics and mechanical engineering and almost all employees have advanced degrees. The Russian employees are focused on software and hardware development and have been part of the Cimetrics employee base for approximately 10 years. |

James M. Lee – Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Lee is the founder of Cimetrics and has acted as its CEO since its formation. Mr. Lee has been a leader in the embedded control networking and building automation community for over 15 years. As founder and former President of the BACnet Manufacturers Association, the leading open systems networking consortium in the building automation industry, Mr. Lee’s aggressive promotion of the BACnet open protocol standard has helped make Cimetrics a high-profile player in the arena. Mr. Lee has a B.A. in Physics from Cornell University.

James Butler - Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Butler provides technical oversight of Cimetrics’ R&D activities and consulting services. He has extensive experience in network protocols, hardware and software design, and product testing.
Butler received his B.S. (1985) and M.S. (1987) degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. His thesis described the development of a software-based simulator for evaluating air traffic flow management strategies. After graduation, Butler worked as a contract software developer for three small companies and taught in the math and computer science department at Ithaca College.
Butler began work for Cimetrics in 1990 as a contractor, later joining the company as Director of Software Engineering. He was the primary designer of the 9-Bit Solution Network Software, and he has been actively involved in the development of the BACnet® network protocol for more than ten years. Butler organized the BACnet Testing Laboratories and served as its manager for six years. |

Mary Ellen Cantabene – Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Cantabene is principally responsible for the monitoring and analysis of data and the development and delivery of recommendations to the Company’s customers. Prior to joining Cimetrics, she was Vice President of Energy Management for Amerada Hess. Her business focused on partnering with fortune 100 and fortune 500 companies (e.g. Bristol Meyers, Corning Inc., Gannett Corporation) to develop and implement strategic energy plans for their companies. Earlier in her career Ms. Cantabene founded H2O Matrix, a $22 million water conservation and management company. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester and was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 1993 by Advertising Age.

Peter M. Harrison – Vice President of Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Peter Harrison brings more than 15 years of sales and management experience to the Cimetrics team with a successful track record for account growth. Peter has a significant sales and client services background, having honed his direct sales experience at American Management and Exodus Communications. He also founded Medical Publishing Associates, a regional firm distributing information to medical professionals throughout New England, growing it to profitability in two years. |

Robert Ofenstein – Vice President, Products Group
Mr. Ofenstein heads Cimetrics’ Products Group and coordinates its sales, marketing, product support, and product development. He brings to Cimetrics over 20 years of management experience with high technology applications such as audio/video, DSL and Cable broadband, networking and enterprise software, cell phone development, and industrial design. Prior to joining Cimetrics, he was a Sr. Marketing Manager for a leading DSL router and home gateway manufacturer. Mr. Ofenstein has a Masters Degree in Technology Management from Pepperdine University, a Graduate Certificate in Computer Networks from Boston University, and a Bachelors degree in Electronics from Arizona State University.

Albert Putnam - Vice President of Technology Operations
Mr. Putnam is responsible for Cimetrics’ BACnet router product line and the systems integration group. He manages a team of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors working in support of systems integration. Mr. Putnam has extensive experience in network systems development and information collection and conversion. He has a background in theoretical physics, mathematics, modeling and analysis, and a practical background in cryogenic engineering, microwave technology, and computer electronics. Putnam has wide experience in project and product development. He has managed small teams doing engineering work on various projects since 1985. Since joining Cimetrics in 1997, Mr. Putnam has managed a team of engineers in Kazan, Russia, doing both hardware and software embedded systems engineering. He was president of the Canadian Association at Cornell in 1995 and an AutoDesk liaison at Cornell from 1994 to 1997. Mr. Putnam graduated with distinction from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia in 1988 and pursued graduate degrees in Physics at Cornell University. His Ph.D. dissertation topic was "Magneto-Dynamic Properties of Dilute Solutions of 3He in 4He at Low Temperatures in High Magnetic Fields.” He is also a member of the American Physical Society and the Association of Energy Engineers.

Charles Frankston – Director of Development
Mr. Frankston is directly responsible for the oversight and architecture of the Infometrics solution. Mr. Frankston has extensive experience in software and hardware development. Most notably, he was Chief Executive Officer of Charles View Software, Inc., a leading software internationalization firm that was sold to Microsoft in 1996. He became program manager of the component applications group for Microsoft Research at that time and subsequently joined Cimetrics in 2004. Mr. Frankston received a B.S. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Keith Corbett - Director of Product Development
The Director of Product Development manages domestic software development operations. Corbett has extensive experience in managing large software projects. He has established process and quality systems at Cimetrics. Corbett graduated from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario in 1988. He subsequently completed an internship at the Chalk River Research Lab of Atomic Energy of Canada. Corbett obtained a master’s degree in physics from Cornell in 1991 and his Ph.D. in 1995. His dissertation topic was “Transport Properties of Copper at Low Temperatures.” During his time at Cornell, he was central to the development of experimental control software in the Cornell Low Temperature Group. Currently Corbett serves as Secretary of the ASHRAE BACnet® Committee (SSPC 135) and Chairman of the BACnet Committee’s Utility/Building System Interface working group. |

Dean A. Taylor, CEM – Manager of Analysis and Report Content
Mr. Taylor is responsible for data analysis and Infometrics reporting. Prior to joining Cimetrics, Mr. Taylor worked as a Project Development Manager for Enron Energy Services Operations in Burlington, MA. His responsibilities included project development and energy asset risk management for commercial and industrial clients throughout the Northeast. He has also worked for TECO Solutions in Tampa, FL as an Energy Engineer concentrating on performance contracts for military bases and educational facilities. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of South Florida.

David S. Landman, CEM, EIT - Chief of Energy Engineering
Mr. Landman has fifteen (15) years of experience in the energy field. He is primarily responsible for Cimetrics’ Hotel and University customers throughout the United States. Prior to Cimetrics, Mr. Landman worked at Crothall Asset Management as the Sr. Energy Engineer conducting energy studies at hospitals throughout North America. Prior to Crothall, Mr. Landman worked as an Energy Engineer for Enron Energy Services Operations, Inc. at both their corporate headquarters in Houston, TX and regional office in Burlington, MA. He was responsible for energy asset risk management at commercial and industrial customers throughout the Northeast. He has a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Tim Griffin, Manager of Services Operations
Mr. Griffin is responsible for the implementation of Infometrics projects including systems installation and configuration, project schedule and coordination. Mr. Griffin received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, in 1993. He is on track to obtain his P.E. license, currently holding an EIT designation. He brings to Cimetrics extensive experience in the design and project management of energy upgrade projects for institutional, commercial and municipal clients across the US. He has held senior positions with several energy services companies and engineering firms including Honeywell, Inc.

Robert Veelenturf, P.E., Principal Mechanical Engineeer and Software Developer
Mr. Veelenturf provides essential domain experience and is a major contributor to the development of our software systems and analysis applications. He has broad ranging and extensive experience including: machine design, mechanical system design, energy engineering, process system design, instrumentation and control system design, data analysis, software testing, software development, product development and project management.
Mr. Veelenturf received a BSME from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, a United States Patent holder, a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a member of the Instrument Society of America.
Mr. Veelenturf began working for Cimetrics in 1997 when he developed software testing solutions for our gateways and other products. He was instrumental in developing early prototypes of and generating requirements for the Infometrics solution and continues to be heavily involved in its ongoing development and application. |
